Science Fiction and Fantasy author Philip José Farmer passed away quietly last night in his sleep at the not-inconsiderable age of 91.

He was an influential and, during a large part of his career, popular writer. I shall probably have more to say about him soon.

One way or another, I harbor at least some hope that he had at least one story or book left that has not been published. The last new pieces I remember him putting out were Nothing Burns In Hell and the Tarzan story The Dark Heart of Time, both published in the late 1990s.
