Baldwins in trouble, a continuing drama:

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – A California judge ordered an arrest warrant on Tuesday for actor Daniel Baldwin after he failed to show up in court to face charges of car theft.

Baldwin —- a member of the acting family that includes brothers Alec, Stephen and William — was scheduled to be arraigned in Newport Beach on the charges.

Orange County Superior Court Judge Peter Polos ordered the warrant when neither Baldwin nor his lawyer appeared or called the court, court officials said.

Baldwin, 46, who co-starred in the TV police show Homicide: Life on the Street in the 1990s, was arrested three times in Southern California last year on various drug and driving charges.

Tuesday’s court appearance concerned charges of stealing a sports utility vehicle owned by a friend in Orange County, south of Los Angeles. Baldwin had been free on $20,000 bail since the alleged theft in November.

In July, Baldwin was briefly hospitalized with back and neck injuries after speeding through a red light before smashing his sports car on a busy suburban Los Angeles street.

He was arrested twice last year at Los Angeles area motels where police said they found drugs and drug paraphernalia.

He clearly needs to start asking himself “What would Brian Boitano do?”
