If, after being in China for a week or more, you begin to think of the Chinese as a population of two-year-olds, relax: you aren’t becoming racist, you are simply beginning to realize that nobody in China understands the word “no” — either in English or in Chinese — until at least the sixteenth time you’ve repeated it.
